Caterham residents invited to have their say on the future of Soper Hall
Published: Friday, 02 July 2010 02:47

Caterham residents will find a leaflet with this edition of The Caterham and District Independent asking them to share their views on the future of the historic Soper Hall. The building in Harestone Valley Road was built as a Council chamber and offices in 1911 and a Soper Hall Group has been set up to review the role of the building if it was modernised and refurbished. The building is currently used by the Citizens Advice Bureau and Tandridge Volunteer Service and is also used for art exhibitions and meetings. The Soper Hall Group is looking into whether the existing building can be put to further use as a community facility and are keen to hear the views of local residents. Graham Tapley of the Soper Hall Group said: "We are exploring ways of getting the building ship-shape again and part of that process is to find out whether the local community would use the hall if it was modernised and if so, what facilities they would like to see on offer."
