'Edged' perform at Surrey's Got Talent
Published: Friday, 02 July 2010 09:18

Last weekend local rock band and 'Tandridge Has Talent' winners 'Edged' performed at 'Surrey's Got Talent' at Loseley Park in Guildford.  Although they did not win the competition they have received a huge amount of praise including congratulations from publicist Max Clifford, who said that they reminded him of a young Led Zeppelin. Mr Clifford also wrote them a note reading: "To Edged, great performance tonight and keep writing, All the best, Max Clifford".

Karen Steer, mother of lead guitarist Brad Steer, said: "They had a fantastic response from the audience and many complimentary remarks. We are of course extremely proud of their success and look forward to future gigs when we know they will keep on improving".

Brad said: "It was a great experience, really good fun!"  When asked how he felt about Max Clifford's reaction to the band he said: "It was incredible, they were the best comments we’ve ever had!" The band is thrilled at how much buzz they have managed to generate during the short time they have been together.

The winner of Surrey's Got Talent and the £1,000 prize was singer/drummer Sophie Plummer, aged 13, who attends Notre Dame School in Cobham. Sophie wowed judges and the audience when she performed a medley of Alicia Keys' 'Empire State of Mind' and Queen's 'Somebody to Love'.
