Hop Along To See The World Premiere of The Wabbit King
Published: Friday, 23 May 2014 00:39

Rafe and Zizzi find each other again (Elaine Hartley, Amy Bowden, Emily Essery, Oliver Swinton, Adam Ryan).

The Wabbit King by Chris Chambers of Another Way Theatre Company was inspired by a traditional Indian tale and produced as a pilot project with professional actors and the community at The Arc in June 2013. Following it's huge success with sell out shows it has been adapted into a puppet show with 'Wabbits' designed by Jill “Wiggy” Wilson.

Chris grew up in Caterham and wrote his first musical ‘Gunpowder, Treason & Plot’ at the age of 15 whilst attending Caterham School where it was also performed by the students. Chris now lives in Warlingham with his wife Nicky and daughter Rosie who attends Warlingham Village Primary School. Wiggy grew up in Oxted and trained at Reigate Design College and now lives in Limpsfield and is a local professional designer.

The puppetry, narrative and songs deliver important messages about bullying and diversity bringing the wonderful 'wagical world of Wabbits' to life.

When an angry lion threatens the safety of The Wabbit Kingdom, it is Rafe Rarebit that finds himself on an epic adventure with an extraordinary task. His journey is full of twists and turns as he meets a stone lioness, a wise old snake, a crazy witch, a talking pond and some comic rapping owls.

Bhubesi the Lion threatens to eat Billy the Bully (Emily Essery, Oliver Swinton).

The Wabbit King is a family show but is particularly suitable for age 5+ and it runs about one hour and 15 minutes.
