Popular 'Garden Open' event raises cash for Caterham Dene
Published: Wednesday, 09 July 2014 17:59

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June, Caterham Independent garden columnist, Sue Baines, opened her beautiful garden in Burntwood Lane, Caterham to the public raising £750 for the League of Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital. The money was raised through entry fees and the sale of delicious home-made cakes and tea and coffee to the visitors.

Visitors were free to wander round the award-winning garden and admire the results of Sue's hard work, supported by her husband Geoff, who helps with maintenance tasks such as building projects and irrigation.

There will be another opportunity to visit the garden at 116 Burntwood Lane and meet Sue and Geoff on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August from 2pm to 6pm. The entry fee of £4 will be donated to 'Action for Children' – Pasten's Children's Home in Limpsfield.
