Town Crier Sonia drops into the Dene
Published: Thursday, 05 August 2010 08:18

On Thursday 22nd July local Town Crier Sonia Hunt made a special visit to the Caterham Dene Hospital in Caterham-on-the-Hill to say "thank you" to all of the hospital staff for the care she received during her recent stay. Sonia stayed at the Dene to recuperate following a hip operation carried out at London's University College Hospital in June. After being discharged Sonia returned to visit the staff a few days later dressed in her Town Crier uniform. She also wanted to wish a fond farewell to staff nurse Julie Fudge. After working at the Dene Hospital for seven years, Julie was leaving to go to St. Christopher's Hospice in Sydenham to become a palliative care nurse. After gathering the staff together Sonia declared: "Oh yea, oh yea! I would like to say goodbye to Julie and a big thank you to everyone at the Dene and all my friends for their help and kindness following my operation".
