Bowlers help boost funds for the League of Friends
Published: Thursday, 30 September 2010 05:06

On Sunday, 26th September Peter and Jean Baker and Eric Allen from the League of Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital were special guests at Caterham Bowling Club to receive a cheque for ¡ê1,000, as the club's Charity of the Year for 2010.

John Nicholls, President of Caterham Bowling Club presented the cheque to a delighted Eric Allen who said: "Thank you very much to everyone for raising this money for the League of Friends. The money will go towards buying a new bladder scanner for the Outpatients Department at the Dene Hospital, which will help many local people. This indicates how we are getting a lot of support from the local community, and we are very grateful."

Caterham Bowling Club will be celebrating its Centenary year in 2011. For more information about the club call Derek Sharpe on 01737 552930. For more information about the League of Friends, call Roger Wright on 01883 382350.
