Four children were presented with medals in assembly this week at Caterham Prep School, having participated in triathlons.

10 year old pupils Abigail Barrett and Jessie Hayes took part in the children's triathlon held at Hever Castle. They each had to swim 100 metres in the lake, cycle 4 kilometres and run 1.3 kilometres. Abigail completed the course in 41 minutes, and Jessie in 37 minutes.

During the same weekend, Daniel Svendson and Leah Slattery, both aged 8, took part in a similar event at Woldingham School, where they swam 200 metres in the pool, cycled 5 kilometres and ran 1 kilometre. Daniel's time was 35 minutes and Leah's 31 minutes.

This is not the first event requiring great stamina that Daniel and Leah have competed in. Earlier in the year they both completed the Snowdonia charity challenge, which was to climb Mount Snowdon, cycle 35 miles and canoe Lake Gwynant, all in aid of the charity Ordinary 2 Extraordinary.
