There were some scary visitors to Church Walk shopping centre in Caterham last weekend, when the centre hosted its annual Guys and Ghouls fun day on Saturday 30th October. Judges from Marie Curie, Peter Groom, Lorimers and Town Crier, Sonia Hunt presented the three winners of the 'Ghouls' fancy dress competition with their prizes and all 21 entries received a magic wand. The winners also received extra prizes of goodie bags.

First prize was awarded to Alexander Sideras aged 2 ½ from Caterham who dressed as a Skeleton Guard; Second prize went to Trinity Thomas aged 3 from Coulsdon dressed as a Pumpkin and the third prize was awarded to Abbee Martin aged 11 from Kenley dressed as a Victorian Ghost.

Shelley Filippi Centre Manager said she was very impressed with the amount of work the winners had put into their costumes. Shoppers were entertained by a 'gravedigger' DJ and a wizard with a dragon. Several of the shops in Church Walk had a Halloween theme for the day with assistants dressing in Halloween costumes and giving out sweets to their customers.
