IT Open Day for older residents
Published: Thursday, 23 December 2010 02:21

Tandridge District Council has made a successful application for £4,000 from Get Digital, a government project to fund computer equipment and digital skills training for older people in England living in sheltered accommodation.

The money will be used to supply and install two computer workstations with internet access for residents at Uplands sheltered scheme in Eden Way, Warlingham, as well as for older people in the local area to use.

Apart from the IT equipment, there will also be one-to-one training available covering the basic aspects of computer and internet use.

There will be an open day on Tuesday 4th January 2011 for sheltered scheme residents and older people in the community to find out more.

For more information contact the Uplands Scheme Co-ordinator, Steve Baker, on 01883 624934, or e-mail communitysupport@tandridge. gov.uk.
