Marathon Runners wanted for local hospice
Published: Friday, 08 January 2010 10:23

A rallying call has gone out to runners who have their own places to take part in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon or Brighton Marathon in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

Jen Wickham, who co-ordinates the running events for St Catherine’s, said that marathons are a huge fundraiser for the hospice.

“The Virgin London Marathon is the world’s largest single day fundraising event and over the years St Catherine’s runners have raised over £550,000,” she said.

“Together with the Brighton Marathon, it is incredibly important that we get as many people running on our behalf so that we can continue to help local people and their families who need end of life care.”

St Catherine’s is looking for runners who have their own places in this year’s event. All runners who join the team will be offered a support package including training advice, fundraising ideas, sponsor forms and a
St Catherine’s running vest.
