Conservative councillor re-selected for Queen's Park ward
Published: Wednesday, 05 February 2014 20:04

Gyimah MP congratulates Cllr. Rod Stead on his reselection.

Rod Stead, one of the two sitting councillors at Tandridge District Council for the Queen's Park ward in Caterham on the Hill, has been re-selected to stand again in 2014. At the recent AGM, held at the Douglas Brunton Centre, Rod was unanimously re-selected by the branch membership.

In his acceptance speech Rod said that his main contribution to the work of the council had been in the Resources Committee, where he is currently Vice Chairman.

This Committee runs the budget process for the council and is proud that it has managed to freeze the Council Tax for Tandridge District Council for the last three years. He also sits on the Planning Committee, which is the first line of defence against excessive development in our area.

The Branch Chairman, Cllr. Geoff Duck, said: “Rod has been a very effective councillor for Queens Park and we must re-elect him in order to continue the good work”.
