Old Caterhamians Minis lift silverware!
Published: Tuesday, 27 March 2012 19:35

The muddy Old Cats Minis following their triumph at Sparrows Den.On Sunday 4th March Old Caterhamians Minis were successful in their bid to win the Old Beccehamians Under 10's Festival final at Sparrows Den in freezing conditions with the pouring rain not letting up all day.

The pitch was awash with mud as a tired, cold but happy squad lifted the well deserved trophy. The Cats coaches said that the team excelled themselves in every match played, just to keep warm! The whole squad played for each other and came out as victors.

Just one weekend later the Under 8's lifted the Bowl trophy after a thrilling final against a well drilled Chipstead team at the Mitcham Mudfest competition in glorious sunshine with a pitch that a premiership club would have been proud of.

This was the Old Cats Under 8's first experience of a large scale competition. They started off being overawed by the size of the occasion with hundreds of players and spectators watching, but after a convincing defeat in the first match they rallied and never looked back. It appears that winning is preferable and the lifting of trophies comes as second nature!

If you would like to get muddy and have fun on a Sunday morning and are aged between 5 and 12, bring your friends and relations to join in with us. We are at the Old Caterhamians Minis Rugby Club at Park Avenue backing onto Queens Park in Caterhamon- the-Hill. Perhaps you too could lift trophies!
