Old Cats mini makes England squad

Old Caterhamians RFC announced at their lunch on the 5th December that Kay Wilson who played her mini rugby days at the Old Cats had been successfully selected for the England Under 20 squad. Kay, in the Cats U9 squad, moved to Dorking and County rugby before being given national honours and she now plays her senior rugby at Richmond RFC. The club sends their congratulations and, at the age of 18, she has a great playing career ahead of her.

The Old Cats fundraising lunch went ahead despite the league game with Old Blues having to be cancelled due to water-logged pitches. The beneficiary of this particular lunch was the Cumbria flood victims' fund. A cheque for ¡ê200 has been sent to the fund with the club's support.

The club continues to grow with new boys and girls joining the mini and youth sections on a regular basis, as well as new players joining the senior men's and ladies sides.

Old Cats rugby club would like to thank The Caterham and District Independent paper for its continued support and wishes all its readers a Happy New Year.
